the Carolina Wind Symphony (CWS) website!
It is a pleasure to have you visit our site to learn more about the CWS. The CWS was formed after a small group of talented musicians met in the choir room at Shandon Presbyterian Church (Columbia, SC) on May 25, 2010, to discuss the possibility of forming a new music ensemble.
After numerous discussions, much planning and great enthusiasm, the CWS began operations, held rehearsals, and provided the public with two "amazing concerts" during the 2010-11 season. While we are biased in our thinking, our first year of operation was a wonderful success.
We plan to build on our past success as we begin our second season. Two concerts are planned for the 2011-12 season. The first concert was held on November 21, 2011, while the second concert is scheduled for April 23, 2012.
